Ideal for regular use seating, wall hangings, curtains.Decorative accessories
Redesigned by Quenin it keeps the effect of manual printing with all these irregularities of the line of the drawing.
Drawing on both revisited archives — sometimes faithfully restored, sometimes boldly transformed — and new creations from the design studio, this collection has fun with the great classics to better reinvent them. It infuses bold modernity into patterns imbued with softness and nostalgia. Comforting images unfold, evoking the joie de vivre, lightness, love of nature and refined opulence of the Belle Époque.
This harmonious luxuriance is expressed through four universes, four color palettes that respond elegantly. The Navy echoes the Natural, the Terracotta Spring dialogues with the Pompadour Boudoir — so many chromatic chords that blend and balance to transport us to a reinvented Belle Époque.
The mosteGLANTINE FABRICis inspired by an archive from the Quenin collection, in the spirit of an Indian woman. Redesigned while preserving the artisanal charm of the original manual printing and its subtle line irregularities, this creation is woven and printed in France on a 100% cotton canvas.
Redrawn by Quenin, it retains the effect of manual printing with all these irregularities of the line of the drawing.
Quenin, Editor-Seller since 1865
It was in the heart of the cradle of French silk, a stone's throw from Lyon, that the Maison was born in 1865Quenin,then known asQuenin & Cartallier, according to the two founding families. This name, still visible on old archive labels under the initials "Q&C", testifies to its origins. In 1891, the Quenin family became the sole owner.
At the end of the 19th century, the golden age of Lyon silk, the manufacture distinguished itself in the fields of liturgical clothing, haute couture and interior decoration. Driven by the creative impetus of the Belle Epoque,Queninis distinguished by bold creations and an avant-garde mastery of the art of weaving.
At the turn of the 20th century, the house turned its production towards haute couture silks, before devoting its know-how to high-end furniture silk. Its exclusive reproductions, intended for prestigious productions and distributed by the largest publishers, impose Quenin on the international scene where excellence is the norm. A lover of colours and curious about everything else, Quenin relentlessly cultivates the art of reinventing himself, until he becomes — and becomes again — a reference in French weaving.
The awakening of a sleeping beauty
In 1972, a new page was written: the Maison Lelièvre welcomed Quenin into its fold. This rapprochement further strengthens its anchorage in the cradle of French weaving. This choice is a natural choice: both houses share the same heritage, that of publisher-builders, guardians of exceptional know-how.
A preserved profession & archival treasures
Not far from Les Canuts, in the heart of the Panissières factory, Quenin perpetuates the excellence of the trade by nourishing the creations of the Maison Lelièvre and the life of its looms every day.
More than a century of order books, maps and samples constitute a unique heritage: thousands of archival documents that inspire and nourish contemporary creation. These redesigned and reinterpreted treasures reveal the richness of France's textile heritage.
Belle Epoque Collection
Drawing on its archives — sometimes revisited, sometimes reinvented — and on the new inspirations of the creative studio, the first collection of the renewed Quenin celebrates the classics to better transform them.
It infuses a modern and daring touch to patterns imbued with softness, evoking the cheerfulness, carefreeness, nature and opulence characteristic of the Belle Epoque.
This harmonious profusion unfolds in four worlds of colors:
the Marine responds to the Natural, the Printemps Terracotta dialogues with the Boudoir Pompadour, and the ensemble comes together to transport us to a sublimated, vibrant and timeless Belle Époque.
